DMRH 1301
Importance of rabi maize in enhancing the national maize productivity, the objective was taken to develop suitable rabi maize hybrids for the target ecology. This has results in DMRH1301, a productive medium maturing dent maize hybrid suitable for rabi cultivation in NEPZ and CWZ with in-built tolerance to biotic stresses. This hybrid was released and notified in the year 2018 by CVRC. The female line BML6 is very productive and there is good synchrony in hybrid seed production. However, the synchrony of male and female flowering needs to be checked and required standardization of seed production techniques at the site of seed production. Cultivar and growing ecologies of DMRH 1301 for North Eastern Plain Zone (NEPZ) comprising the states of Eastern UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha and Central and Western Zone (CWZ) comprising the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Parentage: BML 6 × IML 418-1. Yield is 9.5-10.0 t/ha. Medium (125-140 days) matured Rabi/Winter season variety. Moderately Resistant (MR) to Turcicum leaf blight and Charcoal rot diseases under artificial epiphytotic conditions at hot-spots Locations. Medium maturity single cross hybrid shown significant yield superiority over the best check in North East Plain Zone and Central Western Zone during three years of testing in AICRP, trials of maize. This hybrid is responsive to high inputs
