A process for preparing activated carbon nano particles and its application thereof

Technology Details:
Waste material generated from agricultural could be a potential raw material for the preparation of activated carbon with functional modification with functional groups to act as alternative to GCB/PSA/C-18. These novel materials enable ligand immobilization to facilitate the creation of customized multimodal affinity separation and purification media. The sorption capability of the synthesized material can be altered with extent of modification and manipulating the size distribution so that they can be further explored for target specific removal of analyte interfering matrix components without affecting pesticide sorption in multi-residue analysis of pesticides. The present technology relates to one pot synthesis of activated carbon nanoparticles from grape pomace using optimum conditions as dispersive solid phase extraction (d-SPE) cleaning agents in the multi-residue analysis of pesticide residues in the different complex matrix such as okra, chili etc. The activated carbon nanoparticle of the present invention can be synthesized from grape pomace using sulfuric acid as an activating agent and diethyl glycol as a surfactant to control the size and shape of the nanoparticles.
