CIFAX is a chemical formulation against ulcerative diseases of freshwater fishes and the aquaculture since 1997 across the whole country. The technology has been commercialized four times and earned revenue of INR 306 lakhs for ICAR. Due to its application the occurrence of disease has been reduced to 60%. This formulation acts effective against bacteria and virus in various areas for the microbial load on pond and substantially increasing the aquaculture production.:
Technology Details:
CIFAX has been popularly used by fish farmers across the country with annual sales of 15,000 litters. It has gained popularity because of its effectiveness as preventive and control against ulcerative diseases in fish. The product has been very successful in fish disease management in aquaculture, since last 21 years. It has shown wide acceptability among common fish farmers of 17 main aquaculture States. Due to its application, the microbial disease prevalence rate has drastically been reduced by approx. 60%.
