Technology Details:
Cage is a culture system of fishes in captive condition within an enclosure system made of net cage which permits the free exchange of water. Cage culture technology is the most effective system to achieve more productivity even from a small area. Cage allows complete control over the stock and ensures maximum retrieval of reared fishes. CIFRI GI CAGE® technology has been designated to get more productivity from a small area of inland sources through intensive farming. Areas with more than 2 m depths are suitable for the cage installation. This galvanized iron framed cages have durability of more than 25 years. CIFRI GI CAGE is available in two different sizes. One is of 5 m × 5 m × 4 m or 6 m × 4 m × 4 m hapa, another one is of 5 m × 5 m × 1.5 m hapa. The total system comprises of battery of 8-16 GI cages.:
