Background:
After the release of the intra hirsutum hybrids DHH-11 in 1995 and RAHH-98 in 2008, there was a need for a hybrid which was higher yielding and more tolerant to diseases and pests for rainfed areas. Hence, a breeding program to identify a better hybrid suited for rainfed areas was launched.:
Technology Details:
DHH-263 has a superior seed cotton yield of 10-14 per cent compared to all the existing checks. It also has the highest lint yield, boll weight and number of bolls per plant. Fiber quality traits are better than the checks. DHH-263 has greater tolerance to both pests and diseases.
