Keeping in view all these health benefits, UAS Dharwad has developed a biofortified linseed variety DLV 10 which has 36% oil content with 50.8 % ALA, precursor of omega-3s, and 14.2% Secoisolariciresinol diglycosidic (SDG), a lignan which imparts anticancer and anti-oxidant property and hence suited for table purpose. The seeds are medium sized possessing a test weight of 6.02g and brown in colour. It has a yield potential of 808 kg/ha.
