DMRH 1305
A single cross hybrid development programme was initiated by the ICAR-IIMR by targeting the Northern Hill Zone. We have developed an early maturing yellow flint maize hybrid suited to the target ecology with in-built tolerance to biotic stresses. This hybrid DMRH1305 out yielded the existing best check and released and notified in the year 2018 by CVRC. The female line V373 is very productive and there is good synchrony in hybrid seed production. However, the synchrony is to be standardized at the site of seed production. Cultivar and growing ecologies of DMRH 1305 for Northern Hill Zone (NHZ) comprising the states Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand (Hill region), Meghalaya, Sikkim, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. Parentage: V 373 × HKI 1105. Yield is 6.5 t/ha. Early matured Kharif season variety. Resistant to curvularia leaf spot, moderately resistant to Turcicum leaf blight (TLB), maydis leaf blight (MLB), and to insect Chilo partellus under artificial epiphytotics conditions at hot-spots locations. Hybrid has shown significant yield superiority over the best check in AICRP trials in NHZ: Attractive grains colour, Responsive to high inputs
