Aphids (Aphis gossypii) are a major pest in cotton, causing significant yield losses and transmitting viruses. Conventional insecticides have led to resistance development, environmental pollution, and harm to natural enemies. To provide an eco-friendly, sustainable alternative, ICAR-CICR developed ICAR-CICR-BVA, a formulation that enhances the attraction efficiency of yellow sticky traps (YSTs) by 189%, effectively managing aphids. This cost-effective solution promotes plant growth, induces stress tolerance, and maintains soil health, offering a promising non-chemical approach with wider commercial applications in sustainable agriculture.
