Technology Details:
Seeds of VP-1 were subjected to 55 Kr gamma rays at BARC, Mumbai and segregating generations were screened in wilt sick plot to select wilt resistant stable pistillate lines. M-574, a mutant VP-1 is further stabilized and evaluated for its morpho-agronomic characters. It is similar to VP-1 with green stem, triple bloom, shallow cup and semi compact long spike. However, it is resistant to wilt, leafhopper and found to be a good combiner for high seed yield.
