Pusa Shreshth is a unique hybrid of Amrapali x Sensation having regularity in bearing, attractive elongated shape, red peel and orange pulp. The plants are semivigorous and are suitable for closer planting (6 m x 6m). It is a regular bearer and start bearing after 4 years of planting. The fruit size is medium (228 g), attractive red peel colour and elongated oblong in shape. It has medium TSS (20.33oBrix), rich in ascorbic acid content (40.26 mg/100 g pulp), and high pulp content (71.88%). It has 7 to 8 days shelf-life at room temperature after ripening. It has all the desirable characters like red colour peel, moderate sugar: acid blend and above all uniformity in fruit size.
