Technology Details:
An ergonomically designed straw handler is one of the solutions for easy handling, moving, shifting the leftover straw in the field as well as in the farmers’ farmyard. In this pulling type farm equipment, a wooden beam of 130 cm length and 3 cm diameter is provided for proper gripping. One end of the beam is used as a handle and at another end of the beam, a rack made up of mild steel having 6 tines is attached to pull the straw from one place to another. Over the rack, tines of 20cm length and 1.25 cm square section shape are provided to grab the straw in the bundle. This equipment is lightweight, easy to handle, and durable in this handling operation. This equipment can also be used for weeding, tilling, and field preparation for small landholding and orchards.
