Holotrichia spp. Are polyphagous pests cause severe damage to sugarcane in India. ICAR-NBAIR-Ma4 strain was found highly effective against white grubs in sugarcane and its efficacy was on par with chemical insecticides in field trials. Talc based application of Metarhizium anisopliae Ma4 was developed and soil application of the isolate resulted in effective reduction of white grub population population by 70-90% with increased in yield by 40-50%.
