NRCSS Eco-power
Background:
The production and yield of cumin is severely affected by several biotic or abiotic factors triggering vital and structural changes to the plants affecting its growth. The management of cumin losses in terms of yield and quality is one of the mandates of ICAR-NRC on Seed Spices. Therefore, there is a requirement to develop a biological stimulant that can boost the plant growth:
Technology details:
The solution description for addressing the problem in cumin involves the development of a bio stimulant to boost the crop. Overall, this bio stimulant promotes the plant growth, enhances the yield, improve the quality of seed spices and also minimize the losses caused by Alternaria blight and powdery mildew. Use of present bio-stimulant may also reduce enormous use of chemical fungicides thereby contributing to enhanced agricultural productivity and sustainability with better eco safety.
