Technology Details:
JHO 99-2 is single cut oat variety released during the year 2004 for North Eastern and North Western Zones of India. It is widely adapted in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttrakhand, Odisha and West Bengal for single cut system during Rabi season. Plants are erect, tall (110-120cm) with dark green foliage. Inflorescence is 30-32 cm long with green flowers. Flowering (50%) occurs in 112-115 days and maturity (seed to seed) in 140-145 days. Seeds are creamish white, plump shaped, oblong and bold (42-45 g/1000seed). This variety yields 49.5, 10.5 and 1.34 t/ha green fodder, dry matter and seed respectively. Fodder is also good quality digestibility.
