Technology Details:
Gene-specific PCR- and real-time PCR based technology targeting cry1Fa1 gene efficiently detects Bt brinjal Event 142, which has been approved for confined field trials in the country. PCR allows the detection of cry1Fa1 gene by the amplification of PCR product of 449 bp region with LOD up to 0.01%. Real-time PCR employing SYBR Green chemistry allows detection/ quantification of cry1Fa1 in Event 142 with LOD up to 0.01%.
