Background:
Given the significant economic impact of ASF (African Swine Fever), PCV2 (Porcine circovirus 2), and PPV (Porcine parvovirus) on the pig industry, a simple, sensitive, and specific diagnostic approach is required to distinguish the viral pathogens. Currently, no convenient and specific multiplexing diagnostic assay kits for the simultaneous detection of ASI', l'CV2, and PPV infection exist.:
Technology Details:
A simple, specific. and sensitive multiplexing PCIZ-based assay kit has been developed for simultaneous detecting and distinguishing of ASP, PCV2, and PPV in clinical specimens. The Piggyplex (D) ASFV, PCV & PPV assay kit can simultaneously detect ASF, PCV, and PPV in routine postmortem piggery samples. The developed assay kit is specific and cross-reactive with other porcine pathogens. The assay kit can detect as low as picogram levels of ASFV, PCV, and PPV viral DNA loads in clinical samples, respectively.
