Background:
Sampada a low GI, high yielding, medium slender grain variety released from Indian Institute of ICAR- Rice Research for cultivation in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Vide Notification No.S.O. 2458(E) dated 16.10.2008.
Technology Details:
Parentage: Vijaya / C14-8 • Yield potential: 65-70 quintals/ha • Days to maturity: 135 days • Grain type and quality, It has low Glycemic Index (51.166), Slender grains with good cooking quality and 70.1% head rice recovery. • Biotic stress resistance: Resistant to blast and RTD, moderate resistant to BLB, neck blast, sheath rot and WBPH. • Released for the states of: Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
