FYM application continuously in the trench or near the plant manually is also labour intensive, time consuming as well as drudgery-prone operation. As on today no such technology is available in the country that can make dispense FYM in trench near the plant on both sides. This innovation was to develop a FYM applicator that can dispense FYM on both sides with ease and in time with reduced drudgery.:
Technology Details:
The developed technology is tractor drawn and operated with hydraulic motor. The Side Dispensing Type Farmyard Manure Applicator is the new development that uses conveyor belt to convey FYM material near the plant/trench which is not found till date in the country. The FYM applicator consists of mixing chamber, a pair of augurs for dispensing FYM, hydraulic motor, and conveyor-type dispensing unit. The developed FYM applicator have provision to increase the width of conveying system by extending the slide tray attached to the lower part of conveyor. The side dispensing unit at both side rotates outwards through power transmission from hydraulic motor and chain-sprocket arrangement. The conveyor belt rotates on the pair of rollers which carries the FYM material to the outer end and gets delivered near the plant/trench. The developed technology is natural farming technology and has the potential to reduce labour cost in manual method. Also, the orchard growers can do activity in a better manner in the field due to non-availability of labour during peak season.
