Tubular Condenser Integrated Bio-Oil Unit
Background:
Pyrolysis experiments are conducted in high temperatures which can only be achieved in
muffle furnaces. But heating elements in muffle furnaces are exposed to the internal
atmosphere which in the case of pyrolysis is the organic vapour generated during pyrolysis.
The organic vapours are deposited overheating elements which in long turn spoils the
elements. Therefore, pyrolysis is needed to be conducted in specialized furnaces. Further, the
vapour is required to evacuate immediately for higher recovery of bio-oil. The condenser unit
therefore also should be customized to handle tar and other solid deposits:
Technology Details:
The reactor unit attached in this unit is made of stainless steel and indirectly heated by
kanthal wire heating element and does not come in direct contact with pyrolysis vapour.
Uniform heating is maintained inside the reactor. The condenser unit is also made of stainless
steel with a tube-shell arrangement which can easily be dismantled and cleaned in case of
excess tar deposition.
