UAS-334 (Wheat)
Background:
DWR-162 is the most popularly cultivated variety in Karnataka under timely sown situation. But, in recent years, it has become highly susceptible to leaf rust. In this context, there was a need to develop high yielding rust resistant bread wheat varieties for this situation.
Technology Details:
With an objective to replace the local types which are poor yielders and highly susceptible leaf diseases, programme was initiated at AICRP on Wheat. Because of constant efforts, UAS 347 bread wheat variety was developed and released for cultivation under conserved moisture condition. It is a high yielding variety with resistance to prevailing leaf diseases. Apart from this, it possesses good quality traits and best suited for bread and chapati preparation.
