Background:
In Pearl Millet GHB-558 a only hybrid identified from UAS Dharwad for cultivation in Karnataka during 2016 and it has become very old and lost its potentiality to perform better than ruling private hybrids and was showing highly susceptible to blast and rust, hence there was urgency to breed the high yielding hybrid with tolerant to blast and rust.:
