Problem Description: The present high yielding variety was developed for restricted irrigated timely sown conditions with better resistance to black and leaf rust for Central Zone. Till date there is no wheat variety having high yield potential with high yellow pigment content in durum wheat in India Solution Description: DDW 47 is the India’s first high yielding durum wheat variety having very high yellow pigment and also pasta quality score. Since pasta industry has high demand for high yellow pigment wheats, DDW 47 can be an asset for providing remunerative price to the growers. Recommended region of cultivation include Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Rajasthan (Kota and Udaipur divisions) and Uttar Pradesh (Jhansi division)
