Technology Details:
Event-specific Visual LAMP technology targeting Bt cotton events MON531 (Bollgard® I) and MON15985 (Bollgard® II) approved in the country, efficiently detects the target events with the limit of detection (LOD) as low as 0.01%. It allows user-friendly, rapid and cost-efficient detection and identification of these events, where positive amplification is detected visually with change in colour from orange to green, without requiring cumbersome time-consuming gel electrophoretic analysis. Similarly, Event-specific Visual LAMP targeting imported GM maize events, viz., NK603, MON810, GA21, TC1507, allows detection of these events with LOD of 0.1%.
