Technology Details:
Visual LAMP technology targeting transgenes detects respective targets with the LOD up to 0.1% for insect resistant genes (cry1Ac, cry2Ab2) and for herbicide tolerant gene (cp4-epsps). It allows user-friendly, rapid and cost-efficient GMO screening to check for approved Bt cotton events with cry1Ac and cry2Ab2 genes in the country along with for herbicide tolerant GM events with Roundup® Ready trait (cp4-epsps gene) not yet approved in the country. The positive amplification is detected visually with change in colour from orange to green, without requiring cumbersome time-consuming gel electrophoretic analysis.
