Aqueous formulation of Spodoptera frugiperda nucleopolyhedrovirus (SpfrNPV) NBAIR1 strain for the management of maize fall armyworm
Technology Details:
Indigenous virulent Spodoptera frugiperda nucleopolyhedrovirus (SpfrNPV) NBAIR1 was isolated
from the naturally infected larvae of fall armyworm. All three instars of fall armyworm were
susceptible to this virus. Prophylactic foliar spray of SpfrNPV NBAIR-1 strain @ 4 ml/litre twice with a
concentration of 1.5 x 1012 OBs/ha at 20 and 35 days after sowing was found effective in the
reducing the fall armyworm population by 69-83%.
